The View From The Opposition Liverpool V Everton

Coming off the back of a 3-0 away win at Boro midweek, Liverpool i’m sure will go into Monday night’s Merseyside Derby full of confidence.

Liverpool’s front force once again showed their weight in gold with the midweek win, something I as an Evertonian am pretty wary of.

I said on Twitter a couple of months back that Liverpool are like the Red Arrows going forward. The movement and interchange of the front three is enough to worry an defence in the Premier League.

For me Liverpool’s unsung hero so far this season is Adam Lallana. Giving him a regular run of games in the side, in my opinion Lallana is starting to fulfill his potential that he showed at Southampton.

He almost plays the number 10 role but at the same time can drift anywhere across the pitch. Its like hes filled the boots of Coutinho since his injury.

Liverpool this season have been pretty suspect at the back, alot of critisim has been thrown the way of Loris Karius.

For me, yes, the problem is his to a degree, however, with a less than settled back line for most of the season, blame has to be laid at the feet of Jürgen Klopp and the players themselves.

As we all know its vital that any team has a settled back four, breathing confidence from the goalkeeper to the rest of the team, especially the back four.

I expect a fast pace start from both teams on Monday, with the first half hour being pretty scrappy. Both sides will want to dictate play, but with Liverpool’s high pressing game, this could prove testing for Everton once they are on the ball.

My prediction for this game is 2-2. With Liverpool’s frailties at the back and Liverpool’s attacking power, i’m sure there will be goals in the game
