Behind Enemy Lines: Burnley v Liverpool | @LeonOsmanRS

Burnley head into the game against Liverpool very much up against it and it’s clear to see that they’re not the favourites in this one.

Liverpool were rampant against Arsenal and Burnley were considerably underwhelming against Swansea upon their return to Premier League football, as their Welsh counterparts saw off Sean Dyche’s men in a 1-0 win.

Against Jurgen Klopp’s men, I fear that the scoreline will not be so tight. I can see, sadly, Liverpool giving The Clarets a bit of a harsh reality check on Saturday and I can only see a Liverpool win. I feel as though it could be a case of damage limitation at Anfield for Burnley but who knows? This is the Premier League we’re talking about and we know just how unpredictable things can be.

That being said, I’m fancying Liverpool for this one.

Burnley’s Danger Men

As for Burnley’s danger men, you can’t really look beyond Andre Gray. The forward has been the key man for the last season and was instrumental in Burnley’s return to the Premier League. He has the capabilities of hurting Liverpool but he will need the service; something that will be hard to come by, I feel. An honourable mention can go to new record signing Steven Defour, whose unpredictability could hurt the Reds.andre gray steven defour

Predicted Line-Up: Burnley

I expect Dyche to line up in his standard 4-4-2, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him make a real good go of it and go with an attacking style throughout.

The outcome?

I think that it’s going to be an interesting test on Saturday because I see these two teams as world’s apart in quality and I think they’ll be at either end of the table, come the end of the season. I’m thinking that Liverpool will secure a top four finish this season but those around them will be too strong to overtake.

As for Burnley, survival is the objective and it’s going to be tough. With the signing of Defour though, intent has been shown and I feel as though if they make one or two more additions to beef up the squad a bit, Burnley will stay up. It’ll be tough, though.

Predicton: Burnley 0-4 Liverpool (Goals: Coutinho, Lallana, Origi & Lovren)
