Sakho Sent Home From Liverpool’s US Tour

Liverpool fans woke up this morning to the news that French international Mamadou Sakho has being sent home from the clubs pre-season tour of America. Sakho is expected to arrive back in the UK later on today after manager Jürgen Klopp took the decision to cut short the French mans time in the states.

Sakho who is recovering from an Achilles injury that has ruled him out for the start of the season will now continue his treatment at Melwood with Michael Beale’s U-21’s.

According to reports circulating online this morning it is believed Sakho’s behaviour and attitude on the tour so far has angered Klopp which lead to Sakho leaving the camp early. Klopp is said to be less then impressed with Sakho’s constant messing and general carry on since the team arrived in America. Sakho’s late arrival for the flight to the states is also said to have angered Klopp.

It’s believed Sakho is on the same overnight flight to the UK as Australian left-back Brad Smith, who is set to complete his move to Bournemouth subject to him passing his medical. No reason has been given by Liverpool as to why the former Paris Saint-Germain captain had flown home.

Liverpool will continue with their US tour commitments with matches against Chelsea, AC Milan and Roma over the coming week.

According to media sources online, this could be the final nail in the coffin for Mamadou Sakho at Liverpool. With the whole slimming tablets debacle last season and now this, manager Jürgen Klopp might feel now is the perfect time to move the French international away from Anfield. If Sakho goes one player who will be relieved is Portuguese player Tiago Illori who might just get a reprieve and continue his time at Anfield.
