Rumours are circulating that Liverpool will offer Nigerian wonder kid Ovie Ejaria a new contract as well as a new shirt number.
Ejaria is set to be offered a new contract by the club following some outstanding performances for Liverpool’s first team in the teams pre seasons games against Huddersfield, Tranmere and Wigan Athletic which have drawn praises from fans and pundits alike both inside and outside of Liverpool. Eighteen year old Ejaria was also named in manager Jürgen Klopps tour party to the USA this week and it’s expected Ejaria will swap shirt number to a senior squad number from as he is expected to be a big part of Klopps plans for next season.
It’s rumoured that Liverpool have already taken place between Ejaria and Liverpool over a new contract but nothing has been agreed yet. Liverpool are believed to have informed Ejaria that he will be getting a promotion in squad number.
With Welsh midfielder Joe Allen expected to leave the club in the coming days, Ejaria will be hopeful of getting some game time next season especially when manager Jürgen Klopp has already confirmed that the young Nigerian attacker will not be leaving Liverpool on loan this season.
Ejaria was signed from Arsenal in 2014. He has already impressed in the U-18’s and was named this season as one of the young players Liverpool fans should watch out for in the 2016/2017 season. Ejaria has already trained with some of Nigerias under age teams but if he chooses he can represent England.
