Yes, Liverpool is in it’s first final for four years, but a little bit of credit must go to Brendan Rodgers for that, and even though the team he left us was average, it was good enough to get us to Wembley, one of the the finest stadiums in the world, and for the players too, it’s the first time for them to play in a cup final.
To those who say it’s only a Mickey mouse cup, well it’s more than that, with the winners playing in the Europa League, and Europa League winners playing in the Champions League.
We have been starved of success recently at Anfield, and that’s due to several things, it’s obvious the past managers and teams haven’t been anywhere near good enough in the league or cup competitions. We have bought players who were overpriced and definitely overrated, and who just didn’t live up to their own hype.
F.S.G. did back Brendan on signings, and now we have to start all over again with the owners backing Jürgen Klopp with money to buy new, and hopefully better players.
It wasn’t going to be easy for us to attract quality players this season, the loss of the Champions League is a massive blow, as all players want to play in the top cup competition in Europe at some stage in their careers, not to mention the financial side of things for clubs involved.
Whenever Liverpool FC are mentioned the price of an available player rockets, but F.S.G and Klopp are not stupid, and shouldn’t pay over the odds for a player who isn’t worth it, we have been stung like that in the past, and that should never happen again at Liverpool Football Club.
It’s a catch twenty two situation, to be successful you have to attract the best players, which in itself makes a club successful, therefore enabling the club to make more money to buy the best players, this is what we need to do, and with Jurgen Klopp as manager this is achievable in time, and not right away.
Its a fact that the present squad is probably one of the weakest we’ve had for a long time, in terms of strength, ability and even fitness levels, Klopps job is to make the club great again, he definitely has the ability, but he needs the support of the players, the owners and even the fans, Rome wasn’t built in a day, so here’s to the future of a great club, with the loyalist fans in the world, and to greater things to come, have faith, it will happen and it’s going to happen very soon.
