Liverpool are interested in highly-rated German midfielder, Leroy Sane.
Sane plays in the Bundesliga for Schalke. The 19-year-old has impressed with his performances this season. The youngster has recently been called up to the Germany squad, and coach Joachim Low has tipped Sane to make the step up to international football and has called him a “special talent.”
Sane is an attacking midfielder, who can also play out wide. An area where Liverpool have been lacking this season, with Lazar Markovic out on loan to Turkish side Fenerbahce, Liverpool only have one recognised winger in the squad (Jordon Ibe). I think this current Liverpool team have been lacking pace and width. This is why I think Leroy Sane would be an excellent addition to the side. I think he would offer this Liverpool side pace and cause defenders problems with his flare and creativity. I’ve watched Sane a few times this season and he’s a very quick and skilful player. Also a strong lad for his age, he looks very dangerous in possession and provides goals and assists. The youngster has scored five goals this season, assisting three.
My understanding is Liverpool will do all they can this January to strike a deal with Schalke for the extremely talented attacking midfielder, Leroy Sane.
Another area I think Jurgen Klopp will look to strengthen this January is at GK. Simon Mignolet has been under a lot of pressure these last few months and Liverpool have been heavily linked with replacements, such as Timo Horn and Barcelona goalkeeper, Marc Andre Ter Stegen.
My understanding is that Liverpool are interested in FC Koeln goalkeeper, Timo Horn. Horn has become the regular shot-stopper for the Germany youth teams since under-15 level. The young goalkeeper has kept the fourth most clean sheets (13) in the Bundesliga in 2014/15, with only Manuel Neuer, Bernd Leno and Yann Sommer keeping more than him.
Klopp has made the German goalkeeper a transfer target for this January. The 6ft 4in keeper is highly rated, Horn is a good shot-stopper and commands his box well. Horn is also good with his distribution, unlike Mignolet. I think Timo Horn would be an ideal signing for the Reds. At 22, Horn has already got first team experience and would be an excellent addition to the side and would give Liverpool’s current No.1 Simon Mignolet good competition.
He is reported to have a buy-out clause in his contract, which expires in the Summer of 2019, of around €9m.
